Plastic life is a symbolic project that aims to reflect on the relationship between plastic and the way it is used by humans. Plastic is not a material to demonize since it has allowed many positive innovations, however the way in which it is used and, in particular, disposed of by humans is a problem.
Each person consumes about 25 kilos of plastic per year and only 10% of the world’s plastic is recycled.
My project wants to stress the intrinsic relationship between plastic and human being.
It will no longer be just land and sea animals that get trapped in our inventions, to be modified by plastic and die from too much plastic ingested.
We are still blind to such an urgent issue.
What if we find ourselves submerged by our own sea of plastic without realizing it, what could we do at that point? We need to think about it now.
